Model of Educational Innovative System in Ecuador

Model of Educational Innovative System in Ecuador Successful model of educational innovative system according to the socioeconomic context of Ecuador based on the success of South Korean educative model Eddy Ricardo Andrade Chamorro L5-001 Suneeta Williams November 22th , 2016 Abstract Education is a fundamental basis for a society consequently it must be the priority for countries and even more important to these countries in development. There are studies that demonstrate the relationship between quality education and economic growth of a country. That is why it is of the utmost importance to reconstruct the model of educational system of Ecuador. Currently this country has a very inefficient productive matrix and generate very low income. As a result Ecuador is a country underdevelopment and lagging technologically. In order to solve it the priority of Ecuador is to improve their industry by improving its educational system. A correct model of educational system according to socioeconomics condition, like South Korea model, led the country from poverty to be one of the most important economies of the world. Ecuador needs to educative system model strict and quality focused to the current needs of the industry to eventually improving it by technology and innovati on and as a result develop the country and changing the productive matrix of Ecuador. Educative model, productive matrix, South Korean success, innovation, socioeconomic condition. Which is the best model of an educational system to Ecuador considering the socioeconomic context of the country? Since its foundation Ecuador has been considered an exporter of raw material to the international market. The constant and unexpected changes on international prize of raw materials, as well as also the increasing difference front to the price of products of higher value added and high technology have placed to the Ecuadorian economy in an unequal exchange under changes in the international market. According to SENPLADES (2012), the way in which a society organize itself to produce certain goods and services is not limited only to strictly technical or economic process. It is related with the whole set of interactions between different social actors that uses resources that have to their disposal to carry out productive activities. This whole set including products, productive process, and social relations resulting of these process is called productive matrix. The current productive matrix has been one of the mainly limiting factor to economy and society of Ecuador. Overcome its structure and currently configuration must be therefore one of the priority objective of Ecuadorian society. Ecuador is a small country and does not have a huge quantity of natural resources. In consequence eventually the natural resources of Ecuador will run off. Therefore in order to survive Ecuador must change its productive matrix. From extractivist economic model to a model based on human resources, education, science, and technology. One of the most important axis of the productive matrix to be achieved is education. Ecuadorian educational system must change the traditional model to an innovative and creative model, focused on providing solutions to the current problems of the Ecuadorian economy and community. According to International Monetary Fund (2012) nowadays Ecuador has a volume of exports of goods and services of 2.17 and a value of oil exports of 11.36 billions of dollars instead South Korea, a country with one of the best educational systems and with an industry of knowledge, science, and technology, has a volume of export of goods and services of 10.455 and a value of oil exports of 0. Ecuador is currently a country with an economy strongly based on export of raw material mainly oil and its gross national income is 97,059.21 dollars. In contrast South Korea is a country with an economy based on knowledge, science, and technology has a gross national income of 1,388,988.42. South Korea percentage income from exportation of goods and services is equal to Ecuador percentage of incomes from export of oil. The most part of GNI of South Korea comes from manufacturing and services in contrast the most part of GNI of Ecuador comes from export raw material. As a result of the development of an innovative and technologic industry the economy of South Korea is nowadays one of higher growth in the world. In contrast Ecuadorian economy does not show significant growth and even exist decrease in periods. As a result of an economy extractivist Ecuador is not growing and in order to improve its economy the country must change their productive matrix from educative system. Ecuador must stablish an educative system comparable with educative system of South Korea in order to develop the only one an industry and economy successful to tiny nations and without natural resources. Industry, economy, and society of Ecuador must have a model of educational system according to their needs. According to The Economist Intelligence Unit (2014) the best educative system comes from countries with less natural resources than Ecuador: South Korea, Japan, Singapore and others. The success of education of these countries is the importance given by their society. According to Clark and Park (2009) the success of Korean education is mainly attributed to significant parental investment in after-school classes and other forms of private or additional tuition outside of the public school system. Education in South Korea is a very important topic in its culture. This country is an excellent country to compare and contrast with Ecuador because fifty years ago South Korea was a very poor country mainly agricultural and without science and technology. With correct government politics and with a very strong nationalism and culture of preparation and overcome. South Korea nowadays is between largest high-income economies. South Korea has an enormous investment in education leading the cou ntry from mass illiteracy to a major international technological nation. According to International Monetary Fund this country had one of the world ´s fastest growing. Ecuadorian economy is weak and strongly dependent on natural resources and on exploitation of them. This added to lack of interest of study has created a society poorly academically prepared. Therefore Ecuador has a poor industry. There is no a high prepared human talent capable to develop an industry of science and technology. The economy of Ecuador is the result of a set of causes mainly related with an inexistent culture of preparation, education, and investigation. Ecuador must transform the patron of specialization of economy in order to create new ways of generation, distribution, and redistribution of richness. Therefore decreasing the vulnerability of Ecuadorian economy and creating an industry of high technology. Currently educational model of Ecuador is not providing the required human talent to develop an industry of high added value, goods, and services. Education in Ecuador is lack of quality as a result of the low interest among people to prepare themselves. New model e ducational system of Ecuador must supply the needs of industry increasing the quality of education focused to issues that are critical to the country development. Equally important creating a culture of nationalism, preparation and improvement of each one and the whole country. In order to develop the country and change the productive matrix. Education must be innovative. According to Aguion et al. (2001) the innovation makes intensive use of highly educated workers while imitation relies more on combining physical capital with less educated labor. Ecuador in order to develop an innovative industry eventually will need highly educated workers. Presently Ecuador does not have the human resources to stablish an innovative industry in consequence the country must resort to imitation. Ecuador has physical capital sufficient and a less educated labor. Ecuador must currently follow a patron of imitation of successful models of the world and eventually the country will have the needed human capital to begin to develop its industry and innovate. In conclusion education is the fundamental basis for a society and must be accord it. Ecuador educative system must be reconstructed in order to improve the economy, society, and industry. There are models of successful educative system that were establish in other countries with a socio-economic context similar to currently one of Ecuador. These educational systems were establish with correct government politics creating an attractive and quality model to students. As a result the interest among people on education has increased. As a result of a success educative model, countries like South Korea nowadays have important economies and present high growth rates. Ecuador is strongly dependent on its natural resources but eventually the country will run off of natural resources and if until these time the productive matrix has not been changed the country will be impoverished and country economy will suffer a very important decrease. The country needs an educational system according to its socioeconomic conditions, considering currently failures and giving creative and innovative solutions in order to improve the society. Kripkenstein: Rule and Indeterminacy :: Philosophy Philosophical Papers

Kripkenstein: Rule and Indeterminacy ABSTRACT: Indeterminacy theories, such as Wittgenstein's and Kripke's indeterminacy principle on rules and language and Quine's indeterminacy of radical translation, raise some fundamental questions on our knowledge and understanding. In this paper we try to outline and interpret Wittgenstein's and Kripke's indeterminacy, and then compare it to some other related theories on indeterminacy of human thinking, such as raised by Hume, Quine, and Goodman. Quine's indeterminacy differs from Wittgenstein's in several aspects. First, Wittgenstein and Kripke's indeterminacy applies to a single individual in isolation and this indeterminacy disappears when the single person is brought into a wider community. Thus, this indeterminacy is only logically possible or hypothetical. Second, in Quine's problem, two translation manuals are distinguishable; while Wittgenstein's hypotheses, such as 'plus' and 'quus' and many others, are indistinguishable for the subject's past and the subject would never aware of the distinctions. Third, in Wittgenstein's view, whether a member follows the rules or not can be determined by 'outward criterion'. Quine's indeterminacy denies the existence of such 'outward criterion' for his two translation manuals. Goodman's hypothesis of 'grue' is quite different from the above two indeterminacy in terms of both objective of introducing the concept and the usage of it. Goodman's issue is to search for the rules in screening out 'bad' assumptions in induction. This induction issue is not indeterminacy of Wittgenstein's skeptic arguments or Quine's radical translation. Wittgenstein and Kripke's conclusion that that rules are brute facts seems to be questionable. Form of life is one of Wittgenstein's key concepts in his theory on rules and is linked to rules in some crucial ways. A community cannot agree on arbitrary rules and rules other than some highly selected ones cannot bind a community together. What a community agree or disagree is not an arbitrary game. Kripke presents Wittgenstein's theory on rules in his book Wittgenstein on Rules and Private Language. The topic is difficult and the presentation seems to inherit some characteristics of the original work, which "is not presented in the form of a deductive argument with definitive theses as conclusions,..." (Kripke, 1982, p.3). Kripke tells the reader: "The point to be made here is that, at the same time the second part is important for an ultimate understanding of the first.'' (1982, p.84) "In this way the relation ship between the first and the second portions... is reciprocal." (1982, p.85). We find that a reciprocal reading helps me to understand and absorb the main points and arguments.

Public Speaking Self-Reflection Essay

In order for public speaking to become a skill, there are a few areas in which I need to improve to make it a suitable strength. Public speaking is not a weakness for me but I would like to transform it into one of my strengths. During my two minute presentation, I found that in order to do this I need to improve my ability to perform long speeches without hesitation, maintain eye contact, and be energetic in front of an audience showing more overview what topic I am discussing. In class I plan to work on take the steps of improving my verbal communication in front of my peers. While talking I plan to avoid using filler words that will drag a speech on and draw less interest from my audience. Being able to talk among my peers by keeping good eye contact on them at all times. By doing this it allows me the freedom to walk around and not be completely immobile when giving a speech. Understanding how to organize my work to have a solid overview on what I will be saying when presenting. With this class I hope it takes me to a whole new level on how to talk to people and how to control my emotions when in front of any audience regardless who it is. By allowing myself this sense of understand and awareness will help give me a sense of calmness giving me the ability to stand up and say what I need to say when giving a speech or if I am in a crowd listening to someone speak to offer my views on what is being said. In order for myself to improve my weak areas to accomplish my goals I will have to do the following: first write a speech and review it, next go over the speech many times in a place I feel safe performing the speech. After this find a mirror, use this to help reduce my fear when speaking in front of people. If this doesn’t work for me I can always use my family to help me. This will be continued to repeat itself until I felt I was ready to give my p resentation. Once I have accomplished improving my shortcomings will have the tools needed to be successful in any  job related to my career field.

mass inc 2 Essays - Drug Policy Of The United States, Free Essays

mass inc 2 Essays - Drug Policy Of The United States, Free Essays Year after year, the United States beats out much larger countries for have the largest incarceration rate in the world. The problem is evident, the next step is finding a solution. James Kilgore believe to have found the solution in his book , "Understandi ng Mass Incarceration : A People's Guide to the Key Civil Rights Struggle of Our Time". He defines mass incarceration as "one of this country's key strategies for addressing problems of poverty, inequality, unemployment, racial conflict, citizenship, sexua lity, and gender, as well as crime. Hence, when we talk about mass incarceration, we are not speaking only of prison cells or the War on Drugs. A philosophy, a history, and a trail of profit and investment lurk behind the statistics.Ultimately , mass incarc eration is about opportunitynew opportunities for profit and political power for some and the denial of opportunity to others, largely poor people of color". Kilgore says that "campaigns against draconian dru g prosecutions, mobilizations to "ban the b ox" on employment applications for those with felony convictions, efforts to block jail construction in large urban centers and small Midwestern towns" (Kilgore 5 ) will all represent paths to undermining or fundamentally altering mass incarceration. Kilg ore first wants to campaign against draconian drug prosecutions. "Prosecution of drug cases has stood at the heart of both the expansion of the prison population and the philosophical shift to a more punitive system since the late 1970s. While the sentenci ng laws formed a crucial part of the implementation of mass incarceration, the chief vehicle to put those laws into effect " the war on drugs (Kilgore 39). "Moreover, virtually all aspects of the War on Drugs were and are heavily racialized. Violent raids on suspected drug operations were disproportionately targeted at working- class African American and Latino communities that were already impoverished by high rates of unemployment and declining systems of education and social services" which just happen to be the two races who are also highly represented in the prison system to this day (Kilgore 56).Kilgore believe that drug prosecutions should be only result in jail time if they are violent, Drug prosecut ions have been proven to be racially motivated. "B lacks and whites use marijuana at about the same rate, but Blacks are four to five times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession." the ACLU study found that in every single state Blacks had higher arrest rates than whites for marijuana possessi on. ( Kilgoe 67). Kilgore and Jacobson have a similar stance on this argument and I agree with them both. If a drug charge is not violent, there should be a focus on the root of the problem and rehabilitation rather than throwing the person in jail. Second ly, Kilgore calls to "ban the box" on employment applications for those with felony convictions. "As part of screening for criminal background, many employers ask candidates to check "the box" on job applications if they have ever been convicted of a crime ."(Kilgore 75). Kilgore argues that this box discriminates against people who admit to having a criminal record, often leading to their disqualification from the selection process. "As a result of these concerns, campaigns against the box have resulted in a number of cities, counties, and states passing "Ban the Box" measures" which outlaw the use of the question about criminal background on job applications and usually permit the employer to ask about criminal background only once a job offer is on the tab le .( Kilgore 78). This affects mass incarceration because if an former inmate is released from jail and doesn't find a job they may be forced back until the lifestyle that got them in trouble in the first place. I agree with Kilgore opinion to ban the box. This only helps someone discriminate and eliminate people during the hiring process. If a person is well equipped and favored for a job, only then should the employer be notified of their criminal history. This at least give people a fighting chance for jo bs rather being kicked out in the elimination process. Lastly Kilgore calls to block jail construction in large urban centers and small Midwestern towns."While mass incarceration played

Compare 3 Ancient Greek Statues essays

Compare 3 Ancient Greek Statues essays The ancient Greek culture is known for its advances in math, art, and architecture. In Greek times there where many statues of humans mostly of men who where worshiped as Gods or Kings and sometimes both. The statues where often depicted nude so that the world could see their perfect bodies. Three statues that display various periods and ideals in Greek culture are the Kouros statue (600 B.C), the Spear Bearer (450-440 B.C.) also known as Doryphoros and was crafted by Polykleitos, and Dying Gaul by Peramon (230-220 B.C). Although at first glace these statues may appear qualitatively the same, each statue was carefully crafted to serve a purpose during the period of time in which it was made. The Egyptian style Greek Kouros was the earliest of the three sculptures. It was carved in 600 B.C. The Greek statues Spear Bearer (Doryphoros) and Dying Gaul where carved somewhere around 450-440 B.C. and 230-220 B.C. respectively. Each sculpture was carved from white marble and is a life size representation. Both the Spear Bearer and Dying Gaul statues are actually copies of the original statues. Both statues where originally made of bronze and not marble. Many of the Greek statues from this time period where made of bronze, but bronze was expensive and thats why many of them where carved from marble. Although we do not know who created the copies, the original Spear Bearer was made by a man by the name of Polykleitos. The original bronze Dying Gaul is a copy after a statue by Peramon. The original artist of the Kouros statue is unknown, but many similar statues where made in this style during early Greek times and served funerary purposes. Although each statue is a life size portrait of a nude male of white marble, they are very different in style and technique. The first statue is of a Greek Kouroi and is a much more simplistic that the later statues. Even though the man depicted is life size, it does ...

Main Legislation in the Early Years of Foundation Stage Essay

Main Legislation in the Early Years of Foundation Stage - Essay Example When parents decide to use early years services they are determined to know how the provisions will help in keeping their children safe and promote their growth. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EFYS, 2008) is the structure that gives this assurance. Definitions of stages of growth in childhood come from many sources. Several theorists like Jean Piaget, Lawrence Kohlberg, Lev Vygotsky and Erik Erikson, provided ways of understanding development, various researches done lately have provided important information concerning the nature of development. In addition, stages of childhood are defined culturally by social institutions, customs, laws that constitute a society. For example, while professionals and researchers define the period of early childhood as birth to eight years of age, others in the United States consider the age of five years, because it corresponds with entry into cultural activities of formal schooling. The EYFS mission is to assist young children at the age five wi th every matter and to ensure that the children stay healthy and safe; they should also enjoy and make achievements. Making positive contribution and gaining monetary well-being through: Providing balanced opportunity, anti-discriminatory activities and guaranteeing that every child is included in the children profile, and not disadvantaged by culture or religion, ethnicity, culture, family status, home language, disabilities or learning difficulties, ability or gender. The setting of standards for learning, care and development of young children should be experienced when they are attending a setting outside their family home and making sure that there is uniformity in progress in children. Increasing consistency and quality in the early year’s sector can be achieved through a global set of standards that applies to all setting. This can be achieved by ending the differences between learning and care in the available frameworks and offering the foundation for regulation regi me and inspection. Creating structures for partnership through working collectively with parents and experts would determine the settings that children attend. Nevertheless, laying a protected foundation for future learning through development that is designed around the personal requirements and the interests of a child, using well-versed observational assessment is very vital in early foundation (Bowman Donavan and Susan, 2001). In context and legal responsibilities, the EYFS has played a crucial part in the ten-year childcare strategic choice for parents, which involves the best start for children and landmark childcare act 2006. The act gives a suitable framework for the delivery of EYFS and has taken together the other basics for strategy; the EYFS will be the centre for the delivery of new tasks aimed at reducing inequalities and improving results. Recently, there has been a significant improvement in the early years practice and standards, the EYFS developed this for practiti oners to realize the continuity with the principle and approaches to Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage. Also, the birth to three matters foundation and the national standards for Less than 8 years Daycare and Child minding was a major concern. The EYFS has the mandate

Topic to be selected from a list Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 5000 words

Topic to be selected from a list - Essay Example The government of United Kingdom introduced a scheme known as Sure Start in 1989 to ensure that children receive the best possible start in life (Thompson, 2010). This initiative was led by Gordon Brown, who was the chancellor of Exchequer during that time (Thompson, 2010). The goal of this program was to provide a good start to the children, so that they can build upon it in the future. The support is provided in terms of ensuring good education beginning from the early years; providing facilities for childcare; ensuring good health care and ensuring family support for children’s well-being (Roberts, 2000). Additionally, the project also has the larger goal of community development so that children can have a head start to in their adult life as a result of spending their childhood with a robust and healthy community (Roberts, 2000). This study takes a closer look at the contribution of Sure Start to the lives of children and families in the UK. It also attempts to assess the impact, the challenges and the future outlook related to this program. The study starts by documenting the origins and functioning of this scheme and then moves on the various contributions that it has made to the lives of children and families. Then, it also takes a look at both the local and national assessment of the scheme, the view of researchers and its future outlook. The performance of Sure Start has been under the scrutiny in recent times and scholars as well as the media have been debating on the effectiveness of this program. Hence, it is necessary to understand the ways in which this program may have had an impact on both The research is undertaken through a literature survey and review of available research and literature on the topic of project Sure Start. As such, numerous journal articles, books, newspaper articles, and authentic websites were perused and
